8295 Tržišče, Slovenia

On Sunday, November 15, 2009, the renovated Chapel of Mary Help of Christians in Jeperjek was opened. The chapel was built by the Skušek family at the end of the 19th century, during a time when children were dying from dysentery. The chapel stands in the shade of a majestic linden tree on a hilltop in front of the village along the Malkovec–Telče road. The funds for the renovation were provided by the Municipality of Sevnica and the local community of Tržišče, with the locals, especially the Skušek family, contributing through volunteer work. The renovation work was coordinated by Franc Povše. The renovated chapel was blessed by the parish priest of Škocjan, Damjan Štih, with the parish priest of Tržišče, Slavko Kimovec, also participating. The gathering was greeted by the mayor of Sevnica, Srečko Ocvirk, and the president of the local community of Tržišče, Janez Kukec, who praised the dedicated locals for respecting and preserving the values of our ancestors.
