Mary does not stand aside but actively participates in the work of salvation. From the very beginning, she is obedient to God and surrenders herself to Him in all things. Therefore, the closeness of Mary is not just a feeling we experience when we pilgrimage to Brezje. It is an encounter with God’s goodness in its truest form.
We do not visit Mary’s altar at Brezje for the sake of feeling comfortable, but because we also wish to live in the heart of the Church, with Jesus Christ.
You can make a donation for the Holy Mass in the sacristy, or if the sacristy is closed, at the Pilgrim Office in Brezje.
Consecratory prayer occupies all areas of human life. We pray it with the desire that Mary may truly accompany our lives and that we may be aware of this.
You are the mother of Jesus: you bore Him in your womb, gave birth to Him, and suffered with Him under the cross.
You are also our mother: your motherly hand has protected us throughout all of history.
We consecrate ourselves to you, that through prayer and penance we may transform our hearts. We consecrate our families to you, that they may be open to life and reveal spiritual values to the young.
We consecrate to you the Church in Slovenia, that it may build unity in faithfulness to the Gospel.
We consecrate to you the Slovenian homeland, that it may progress in the light of faith and Christian tradition. We consecrate to you our fellow countrymen around the world, that they may remain faithful to God and their homeland.
Accept us into your protection and entrust us to your Son Jesus, our Savior, who lives and reigns forever.
Amen.
Since 2009, the Pilgrim Office has been operating at Brezje. The Franciscans at Brezje, who have cared for the Brezje shrine since 1898, established the office with the aim of assisting pilgrims in their journey to Mary Help of Christians at Brezje. This also gives rise to the activities of the Pilgrim Office and the company Romar.
The tasks of the Pilgrim Office include public relations, primarily managing the magazine Marija and the website, as well as the sale of souvenirs.
The Living Rosary (ŽRV) refers to a group of prayerful individuals gathered in one or more “rosaries” of 20 people, each of whom prays one of the 20 mysteries of the Rosary while reflecting on the life of Jesus and Mary. In this way, each group of prayerful participants prays all four parts of the Rosary each day. The purpose of the Living Rosary is to give thanks to Christ and Mary, the Mother of God, and to pray for the great needs of the universal Church, with the primary focus on the need and urgency for unity, as well as prayers for the revival of new vocations to the priesthood.
The Living Rosary for the unity of the Church, for new vocations, and for the holiness and perseverance of those called is the prayer of a decade of the Holy Rosary, chosen by people who realize that today the world is lacking more than seven million new vocations, and that each vocation must be prayed for and also suffered through. Above all, this prayer of the Rosary is a response to Jesus’ command: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Mt 9:37-38; Lk 10:2).
Today, over 16,500 prayer members are included in the Living Rosary, both in the homeland and around the world. Twenty members together are called a “ROSE,” twenty ROSES form a “ROSARY BUSH,” and twenty ROSARY BUSHES make up the “MARY’S GARDEN.” What unites them all is their love for God and Mary, through prayer, sacrifice, and suffering, offered for the unity of the Church, for new vocations, and for their perseverance and holiness.
The members of the Living Rosary and their work are entrusted to the protection of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of the eternal and great priest, Jesus Christ, and the Mother of us all, whom we call Mary Help of Christians. The annual gatherings of the Living Rosary members take place at Brezje on Pentecost Saturday. Every year, we also prepare spiritual retreats for the prayer members at Mary Help of Christians. We invite you to join this deep and much-needed prayer as well.
Each new member sends their details including surname, first name, date of birth, address, phone number, and signature. In response, they will receive a brochure by mail with instructions and a short meditation for each decade, a prayer card with the schedule for their decade each month, and a “Harvest” leaflet to deepen their prayer, sacrifice, and suffering for the unity of the Church, for new vocations, and for their perseverance and holiness, based on the Pope’s words or the examples of saints. If they are ever unable to pray their decade, they offer their suffering and trials of that day to God through Mary for this purpose.

The Marija magazine began publishing in 2009. The magazine was launched with the aim of connecting pilgrims to Mary Help of Christians, strengthening the reading of texts about Mary, and thus reaching people who identify with Marian spirituality.
The Marija magazine is published four times a year, in March, June, September, and December. It includes reports on events, announcements, reflections and encouragements, Marian theology and spirituality, as well as other articles that accompany and encourage the activities of the shrine.
The magazine is free of charge and is available at the Pilgrim Office in Brezje, in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, and can also be sent to your home. You can send your address to info@romar.si or fill out the form below.
